Hamid Akhavan

Chief Executive Officer

Hamid Akhavan is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Siemens Enterprise Communications, where he has overall responsibility for the performance of the company, including its subsidiary businesses like Enterasys Networks.
His extensive management experience includes product development, and international sales and marketing, as well as technology, IT and procurement.
Prior to joining Siemens Enterprise Communications, Akhavan served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Deutsche Telekom Group, where he was responsible for the company’s mobile operations in Europe, and he was also Chairman of the Executive Operating Board at Deutsche Telekom. He was also previously the CEO at T-Mobile International AG.
Akhavan’s previous roles also include Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTO) at T-Mobile International, Deutsche Telekom Group and Teligent Inc.

Hamid Akhavan holds Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH) and a Master’s degree in the same fields from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
