2008 TMC Labs Innovation Award Winners Announced Present By INTERNET TELEPHONY Magazine
The TMC Labs Innovation Awards honor products that demonstrate raw innovation, unique features, and significant contributions toward improving communications technology. The TMC Labs Innovation Awards are not granted only to the best-selling products, but instead to those demonstrating raw innovation, uniqueness, and representing a significant contribution to the industry.

Mobile Enterprise Award “Best of Campus”
Henry Ford Health System won Mobile Enterprise’s Mobilizer Awards in the best on (corporate) campus category with Siemens Enterprise Communications HiPath Wireless LAN.
Henry Ford Health System is already reaping the benefits of a project that will ultimately give mobile workers across its multiple campuses access to electronic medical records at the point of patient care. It started with the deployment of an enterprise wireless infrastructure at its campus in Detroit. That 2.1 million-square-foot complex treats 2.2 million patients per year.
The original deployment was 802.11a/b/g, subsequent deployments will use 802.11n. The full, 60-site rollout will be completed by 2Q 2010. 802.11n "is going to enhance our devices," says Ed Ivone, HFHS Director of Networks & Telecommunciations. "Plus, because the range of the antennae is more powerful, it will help us in terms of cost. You don't have to use as dense a deployment" as you do with 802.11a/b/g.
