NPIA IAM Services

To assist police forces in understanding the benefits of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and their solution requirements, we have developed three fixed prices evaluation services. To ensure the services are suitable for your organisation, we have classified the services into three sizes:

• Large 7001 + users
• Medium 3001 - 7000 users
• Small <3000 users

These initial evaluate services are based around our OpenScale service delivery framework, Evaluate, Design, Implement, Operate, Improve. An example of other services is below:

Evaluation Phase – Business Requirements Analysis

Value:

• Strategic case for use within the force to assist with decision making
• Looking at the use of IAM within the business and how it could be leveraged to meet key force targets
• Looking at IAM as a service rather than technology components e.g. PKI

Deliverables:

• Documented analysis of the forces business requirements of IAM & federated identity for the force
• The forces objectives around IAM defined and documented
• Strategic case presentation for IAM

Evaluation Phase – Gap Analysis

Value:

• Prioritized roadmap that identifies gaps and areas of risk that need to be resolved to enable the NPIA IAM service to be utilized
• Identify gaps that could affect future access to PND and other National Applications
• Establishing trust relationships with other public sector bodies for controlled information sharing
• Enables the force to develop appropriate and indicative budget for future IAM investment

Deliverables:

Gap analysis and roadmap of the forces existing people, operations, processes and high-level technology against the NPIA:

• IAM CS code of connection;
• ISIS
• Confidential working for the forces

Evaluation Phase – IAM Readiness Assessment

Value:

• The reviews covers all IAM technologies and infrastructure and how it integrates with applications, and network operating systems and components;
• The document outlines the forces compliance to NPIA standards
• Prioritised list of findings that identifies issues that need to be resolved

Deliverables:

Technology review of existing IAM infrastructure, identifying:

• How the existing technology could be utilized in conjunction with IAM CS
• Define gaps in the existing force IAM provision that would require to be resolved to utilize IAM CS
• Security review against NPIA standards for connection to IAM CS
