Siemens Enterprise Communications Wins Enterprise App Award from UBM Channel’s CRN
Reston, VA , Oct 11, 2011
As continued proof of its focus on innovation and delivering superior solutions to customers, Siemens Enterprise Communications has been awarded a 2011 Enterprise App Award from CRN for the OpenScape Mobile application. Also known as “The Appys,” CRN’s inaugural Enterprise App Awards were presented to the top mobile apps for business, recognizing outstanding achievement in driving enterprise IT into the palms of the market.
One of only three winners from more than 50 applicants, Siemens Enterprise Communications’ OpenScape Mobile breaks new ground by deeply integrating enterprise mobility with the latest smart phone technology and making access to enterprise call features easier than ever before. OpenScape Mobile operates in conjunction with the OpenScape Voice communications system and includes OpenScape Communications Gestures, innovative new communications features that leverage the advanced technologies available in today’s smart phone interfaces and the latest mobile operating systems, making access to advanced communications functions easier and more intuitive than ever before.
The first OpenScape Communications Gesture application, Call Swipe, gives users the power to seamlessly transfer a call from their mobile device to a nearby desktop phone, and vice-versa, with a single swipe of the finger. It also enables users to choose to move from the cellular network to a local WLAN using SIP-based, voice-over-WLAN via its intuitive interface and simple touch screen swipe.
“As more channel executives turn to tablet PCs and other mobile devices as their primary work machines, demand for information around mobile business continues to build,” said Kelley Damore, Vice President and Editorial Director for UBM Channel. “At CRN, our solution provider readership is constantly on the lookout for the highest rated enterprise apps in the industry. That’s why we created this award, to provide our audience with a short list of the most beneficial mobile applications in the channel. We congratulate this year’s winners on their success, and applaud them for developing cutting-edge products to meet the ever-growing need for creative, functional mobile solutions in the channel.”
“We are honored to be one of the inaugural winners of the Enterprise App Award from CRN,” said Chris Hummel, CMO and President, North America, Siemens Enterprise Communications. “OpenScape Mobile is an innovative and unique solution, delivering revolutionary collaboration capabilities in a simple app that users can easily download from existing app stores and that IT managers can appreciate for its full integration with their existing OpenScape Voice and OpenScape UC Server deployments.”
CRN received more than 50 entrants from all areas of enterprise mobility and selected winners based on their ability fully maximize new mobile platforms, show new methods of delivering value, and overall innovation. The Enterprise App awards were presented on October 5th at the 2011 NexTI Conference at the Doral Resort in Miami, FL.
Expanded coverage of the 2011 Enterprise App Awards will be featured in the October issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.crn.com, both scheduled to be published on October 24, 2011.
