OpenScape Session Border Controller (SBC) is the smartest and most secure way to enjoy the cost-saving advantages of SIP trunking and provide connectivity to remote workers. Voice ‘firewall’
OpenScape SBC acts as a ‘voice firewall’ to solve the security and interoperability issues of SIP-based voice-over-IP (VoIP) traffic. Utilizing a back-to-back user agent (B2BUA), it terminates a SIP session outside the enterprise voice network, ensures the traffic is originating from an authorized source and has no irregularities, and only then allows traffic to pass to the enterprise voice LAN. This process protects the voice network while still enabling fluid communication for enterprise, teleworkers, hosted services or branch locations.
In addition, OpenScape SBC is highly scalable supporting up to 4,000 simultaneous sessions on a single server, servicing potentially over 15,000 users. For organizations where business continuity is a requirement, it is available with both local and geographical redundancy options.
