Cyrela Standardizes on Enterasys – Siemens Solution at New Headquarters Location
Enterasys and Siemens Enterprise Communications today announced that Cyrela, Brazil’s largest real estate developer, has selected Enterasys and Siemens Enterprise Communications to provide a secure network infrastructure for the company’s new headquarters, located in Sao Paulo. The new network delivers a wide range of voice and data applications to support Cyrela’s growing business and enhance communications with its partners while providing centralized network security and management.

Cyrela selected Enterasys and Siemens over three other vendors based upon several criteria including hardware and software testing, integration of IP technology and a cost-benefit analysis of the proposed system. The Enterasys solution includes Matrix N-Series® core switches and SecureStack® C-Series edge switches for high-availability, security and flow management. Enterasys’ NetSight® Management Suite provides centralized network management and monitoring with the ability to apply and enforce secure access policies. The solution also provides Layer-3 routing functionality for Cyrela’s server environment and Power over Ethernet (PoE) for IP telephony equipment.

“Our new network from Enterasys allows us to benefit from high availability of resources and systems and a smart, flexible infrastructure that is scalable to support our ongoing growth,” said Rogerio Pires, Cyrela CIO. “The move to the new network was completely transparent to our users and provided us with a more stable environment that is easier to manage.”

Cyrela, one of Brazil’s most respected and widely recognized construction firms, operates in 55 cities across Brazil as well as in Argentina. The Secure Network will support more than 1,000 workstations and 60 servers at Cyrela’s new headquarters facility.

“Enterasys is pleased to be selected by an industry leader such as Cyrela to provide a secure, open network infrastructure,” said Marcelo Rezende, RVP South America at Enterasys. “Being selected as the network provider over three other competitors is a testament to how the Enterasys-Siemens joint venture can provide superior performance, security and cost-effective manageability for voice and data applications.”
